Made a little more progress tonight when I installed the gauges into the dashboard. I successfully grafted two new bulbs into their plastic holders without removing a finger or burning down the house. I pulled the bulbs out with a set of pliers, drilled a couple of holes so the soldering iron could fit in the holder and soldered new bulbs in. $2.49 at Autozone versus $15 on the web. What's even better is that they appear to work.
