I picked up a rubber boot that goes around the gear lever on www.vwvortex.com before Christmas and it finally decided to show up today. $10 and it fits like a glove. It also keeps the raw fuel stench out of the cabin, so maybe my wife will want to take a ride in it again. Ah yeah, unburnt hydrocarbons. My next big project is to turn the fuel and ignition over to a higher power.
